Jeff Corbett is the Vice President of Technical Operations for Medalist Sports. In this capacity, he is responsible for the technical aspects of Medalist events, including course development and management, agency coordination and communications, event staffing, and medical team oversight.
Jeff joins Medalist Sports from the competition side of the cycling industry. After racing professionally on the road in the 90's, he began working in team management. From 2000 to 2003 he built the 7UP Pro Cycling Team into one of the top 3 teams in the country, while at the same time managing the Diet Rite Women's Pro Cycling Team.
In 2004 Jeff's management company, Sports Group Eleven signed on to manage and direct the Health Net Pro Cycling Team. The team dominated domestic racing for the next several year with 4 National Calendar titles and 3 US Pro titles. Health Net also won several stages and awards at Medalist events like the Tour de Georgia, which helped build relationships that would lead him back to Medalist.
A 2008 hiatus from working with teams led Jeff to some contract work for Medalist, including Assitant Technical Director roles at Tour de Georgia and Tour of Missouri. These new opportunities were a good fit for all parties and after another year of contract work, Jeff was ready to join the Medalist team full time.
Since joining Medalist full time in 2010, Jeff has worked with various clients. He has produced cause-related events for the Dempsey Center and LIVESTRONG but primarily focused on the competition side. He has produced world class women's events like the Exergy Tour and Amgen Women's Tour of California while also producing the USA Pro Challenge, Tour of Alberta, and US Pro National Championships for the men's peloton. The skills gained in all of these events culminated in 2015 as Jeff and Medalist Sports produced the World Championshiops in Richmond, Virginia.
Jeff is a 1993 graduate of the University of South Carolina (Go Cocks!) with degrees in Communications and Geography. He lives in Columbia, South Carolina with his wife and 3 kids.
