Drew Chaplain joined Medalist Sports in October 2013 as an Event Manager and became a part of the management team that oversees the non-profit and mass participation events. He is responsible for a variety of areas that include, but are not limited to, hotel operations, sponsorship fulfillment, corporate partnerships, hospitality, and ancillary events.
Drew began his relationship with Medalist Sports as an intern during the summer of 2012, working on both professional cycling and non-profit events. These events included the US Professional Road Championships, the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah, and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. During his internship, Drew developed a grassroots marketing strategy for the Tour of Utah and assisted in hospitality during the event. Upon his college graduation, Drew worked as a contractor for Medalist before he was given the opportunity to join the team in Atlanta.
Drew is a graduate of Ithaca College ‘13, earning a B.S. in Sports Management, with a minor in Legal Studies. While at Ithaca College, Drew interned with Major League Baseball International in London, England, as a Player Development Intern for academies throughout Europe. In addition, Drew was a marketing and game day intern with the Cornell University Men's Ice Hockey and held a similar position with the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Drew is part of a big family that enjoys running road races together every year. Drew grew up playing a variety of sports, but he currently enjoys long distance running, hiking, and competing in triathlons.
