Chris Reed is a Technical Director for Medalist Sports. Chris’s primary responsibilities include course design and development, local agency permitting, volunteers, and medical/crisis communication plan coordination. In addition, Chris is also responsible for all technical aspects of cause-related events.
Chris became a full time staff member in 2012. Prior to joining Medalist Sports, Chris and his wife, Amy owned and operated Ascent Productions. Ascent Productions, contracted with Medalist Sports on a number of their premier events, produced and owned their own running and triathlon events as well as produced events for other clients.
Chris’s interest in event management was sparked by his wife, who at the time was the Director of Operations for the Tour de Georgia. Chris joined Medalist Sports in 2007 as a contractor for the LIVESTRONG Challenge series. Additionally, he has served as the Director of Operations, Director of Transportation, Volunteer Director and Technical Director for various Medalist Sports events.
Prior to Medalist Sports, Chris gained valuable experience in the hotel, hospitality, and communications industries. Graduating with a B.S. in Hospitality Management from Johnson State College, Vermont in 1992.
Avid cyclist, triathlete, runner and Shodan -1st degree black belt, Cuong Nhu Oriental Martial Arts. Chris also enjoys travel, Italian red wines and cooking.
